In Addict you will get three different POV’s. The excerpt below is from Jazz’s POV. A conversation between Jazz & Liv.
Excerpt:
“He texted himself.”
“What?” I ask.
She hands me the phone with the text pulled up.
Beauty may not be quantifiable but I’m damn sure going to try and prove you’re beautiful to me. – B
“Wow.” I hand the phone back to her. “That man has it bad for you.”
I watch as a small smile dances across her face before quickly disappearing.
“Why do you do that?”
“Do what?” she asks.
“Stop yourself from smiling. From being happy.”
She waves her hand at me, “Stop it. I’m happy.”
“Are you though? I watched you stop yourself from smiling for no reason at all. That may have been the most sickeningly, sweet, genuine thing I’ve read in a long time. But, for some reason you shut it down.”
“I didn’t shut it down… I just chose not to smile. There’s nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t mean I’m not happy or I don’t think the message is sweet. But now I have to write something back as sweet as what he wrote.”
“Or you could be yourself? He seems to like that for some reason.”
She tosses a straw at me and laughs. “You’re such a bitch.”
“You love it.”
I watch as she downs another drink and the worries, I used to have about her begin to resurface.
“For real, Liv, are you okay?”
I watch for any signs of a lie, but her face is perfectly composed.
“I’m fine.” I watch as a soft smile crosses her face. “Really, I’m good. I’m a little surprised he was interested in me, is all. I promise I’ll see where it goes.”
